Busy Week in the Tavern

What do you want traveler? I’m deadbeat with all mead delivery and inventory. Sorry if I’m kind of crappy at hospitality, it is just that the start of my week has been hell. Tavern brawl and fixing broken windows can’t be ignored with this kind of tavern, MY TAVERN. Anyways what do you need? Mead or ale? No milk here…

I know, I know, I’m supposed to start making my review of the “Hunger Games”. I will give it to you this week not to worry, just not today. Lots of costumers are showing up this week, those dwarves over there, I have never seen then for months then they arrived early this morning. See those elves? They seldom visit my tavern since treecutters frequent my place, but now there they are drinking ale! I really do not know what is happening in Fearun but I have a hunch…

Remember when I said days back that dragons were seen in the north? I have another witness that could testify to that, though he is not here, went to the woods it seems. I think something big will happen before this is over, but hey! Who am I to bother you with this nonsense, another round? Here ya go! Don’t drink too much eh? You start another brawl; I’ll punch your lights out. now I have costumers to attend to, make yourself at home.

Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I will be making a review post on Hunger Games next week, since a friend asked me to. Watch for it

Hello again traveler! We meet again! How was your latest adventure? Seen any dragons about? I heard there were sightings near here at the north. Anyways you want to know how I am? Well I’m still here serving ales to the likes of you. Talking about dragons I want to share with you a game that is close to my heart. I’ve been playing this game since 2006 and just stopped for a vacation in 2010.

“Sleep is for the weak”

This is what you usually hear or read about this game, where sleep can actually get your character killed or ambushed. A game where time is of the essence, a missed second can cost your life or the lives that you invade. Do not fret my friend, do not think that this is way over your head, if you ally yourself with the strong then you don’t have to worry, but with a weaker one, you’re on your own. By the way, Alliances at War is a web based strategy game, and its environment is taken from the Lord of the Rings, such as its races (Nazgul, Dragons, Uruk hai) and units (WolfRiders, Ogres, Longbowmen). You pick your race and lead your people to greatness or cause them defeat and eventually death.

This is all about alliances (it is not called Alliances at War for nothing) where you ally your tribe with 11 more tribes to form 1 alliance. And your alliance will grow together by invading other tribes from other alliances, but it means you made an aggressive move so be ready to be retalled by them. Or you can grow peacefully by exploring nearby lands and feed your alliance with your resources but it is no fun I think, I prefer killing aye?

This game will demand your immediate attention, guile and strategic mind. Or else you will lose not just the battle but the war itself. WARS between alliances are common so have to pick to strong alliance to stay with. But don’t get me wrong traveler, its players are friendly and always ready to help the “newbies” about the game and its mechanics. I myself got my tribes killed many times before I can actually play the game and kill other tribes too.

“Orkfia is also one of the few games you will ever play where you can choose to influence the future of the game and get involved at staffing level if that is what you want. Compared to the mammoth commercial games available it may be a speck of dust, but I think for at least a few hundred people of many different countries this game means more to them than any of the multi-million dollar games and that’s quite an achievement whichever way you look at it.“ (Jamzi/Orkfia Portal, 2008).

Remember traveler, this game is addicting, so as my ale right? Like what my friend Jamzi said above. Many have tried getting out but they returned after a few weeks like me. So are you ready to kill some tribes?

Good day traveler! What do you want to drink? Water? I don’t serve water here only meads and ale. Anyways you came here to talk? I got some news for ya! Here it is.

For so many games to choose from Facebook, there is one game that took my attention the second I saw its title, “Heroes of Neverwinter”. This is not just some flimsy game like so many on Facebook, this game brings you closest to the home of role-playing. With almost the same game rules (turn based) and crits applied on the actual game “Neverwinter Nights” you will definitely enjoy this game.

When I tried it out, I immediately enjoyed choosing my race, gender, class and appearance since they visually show you how you look, and the equipments and items vary from different classes like maces, swords and shields. Wizards of the Coast Company really took their time in making this game.

Checking out the town, there are about 4 buildings to go and wander. The Weapons Shop where you can procure and sell your equipments, did I say that each items look different to each other when you equip them? Then there is the Trade house where you can buy potions and other magical artifacts to aid you in your journey. And you can’t miss the famous inn Beached Leviathan of Neverwinter, where all the heroes gather and exchange tales of bravery.

And because it is in Facebook, you can ask for the help of your friends that plays it as well, you can pick their heroes and form a party maximum of four and together journey and fight your way to the top. They don’t have to be online to be able to join your party, since you will take control of their characters while fighting a monster, and when they are indeed online they can also help you with buffs and healing parties.

I can talk about this game all day but sadly time is not mine to waste any more traveler. So off with you, I still have to serve other travelers their drinks. While you go and check this game I’m talking about.

This is Apaullo, your tavernkeeper. Here you will get all kinds of gossip that wander in the realm! From our favorite to our least liked games we will get NEWS, what’s happening outside this tavern, tales of exploits from visiting adventurers all across the lands of Fearun. We will also make and get great reviews of the latest game that have been released. So stay back and know what will happen across the realm.

Also since I’m always here inside my tavern giving mead or ales to passing adventurers (sometimes stopping a brawl of drunken dwarves, having too much mead), I get to read books during daytime where my costumers are still at home nursing their eyes or mouth during the last night’s rumble. I can give you overviews or opinions of books that I recently finished. I love fantasy books so expect that what I will post here  of reviews will be about fantasy books.

So WELCOME AGAIN and since this is my opening day, all ales are free! Enjoy!
